  • 1.  ATAS ADVISORY COMMITTEE UPDATE

    Posted 12 days ago

We are happy to share an update from our recent ATAS Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting where we continue to make strides towards ensuring ATAS maintains and enhances its role as a symbol of trust and excellence within the travel industry and consumers alike.

Since the committees inception in November 2023, the AAC has convened twice, with our most recent gathering taking place in March 2024.  The AAC is chaired by myself, David Walker and co-chaired by Scott Darlow. Other volunteer members are Deb Fox, Ken Morgan, Steve Hui, Gina Norman, Chad Carey, Brett Mitchell, Brett Dann and Lauren Gray.  Also in attendance at the March meeting were - ATIA Director David Smith, ATIA CEO Dean Long and ATIA Compliance Manager Nina Hedges.

The focal point of discussions during the meeting centred on enhancing the effectiveness of the ATAS 3 Stage Complaints Process.  We engaged in detailed conversations on how to further strengthen the process, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for ATAS participants by saving them resources and costs, and an efficient and cost-free recourse for consumers to have their concerns heard.

The insights and suggestions brought forth by the committee members were insightful and instrumental in shaping strategies to elevate the operational excellence of ATAS.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to the AAC members for their dedication and expertise which continue to propel ATAS forward.

    Kind Regards
