Hello ATAS Members
Our ATAS Advisory Committee (AAC) met recently with a focus on providing feedback and insights on how to strengthen the position and role of ATAS and ensure the scheme remains fit for purpose.
Since the committee's inception in November 2023, the AAC has convened three times, with our most recent meeting taking place in June 2024. The AAC is chaired by David Walker and co-chaired by Scott Darlow. Other volunteer members are Deb Fox, Ken Morgan, Steve Hui, Gina Norman, Chad Carey, Brett Mitchell, Brett Dann and Lauren Gray.
Also in attendance at the June meeting were ATIA CEO Dean Long, ATIA Compliance Manager Nina Hedges and ATIA Director of Public Policy & Advocacy Ingrid Fraser.
Robust discussions took place, focusing on the promotion of ATAS Accreditation, proactively addressing consumer complaints, and maintaining the credibility of the ATAS scheme through staff qualifications and ongoing financial solvency checks. The scheme's value to industry members and consumers was reviewed along with how this could be strengthened.
These discussions were presented to the Board by the Chair David Walker and centrally considered as part of the Strategic Planning process for the Association.
This was the last meeting for committee member Brett Mitchell who leaves the AAC to assume his role as one of the ATIA Board's newest Directors. We extend a heartfelt thanks to Brett for his significant insights and contributions to the AAC.
We were proud to welcome Australian MD of Collette, Ms Karen Deveson. We look forward to her valuable insights and contributions.
The committee members' insights and suggestions are crucial in shaping the strategies to enhance ATAS's operation excellence and are greatly appreciated. We thank all members of the AAC for their dedication to the industry and knowledge they share that will continue to shape and grow ATAS.
