We are a tour operator booking school group tours including accommodation, transport, activities and food. Mainly to Canberra but a few other destinations as well.
We collect allergy/dietary requirement forms from the school and then forward to the accommodation and any other meal supplier.
We had an instance last year where a student had an anaphylactic reaction to a lunch that was provided by the accommodation. We are now trying to ascertain where our responsibility lies, and put a policy in place to show a school/parent how we manage allergy/dietary requirements, especially with severe allergies such as anaphylaxis.
Are there any other tour operators that may have something similar? We are not operating the tour, but recommending and booking third party services and forwarding the requirements. I guess its similar to a travel agent booking flights and advising the airline of a dietary/allergy.
